Quick Update

Three growing boys!! Three words: busy, busy, busy! Kaden has fully discovered stairs. He gets up them quick as lightening. Sometimes he comes down just as fast...
Zach's birthday is Sunday, he'll be ten! I can't believe that he is getting that old. Spencer has been using the word MINE a lot more. I am afraid for when he turns three. He is getting a lot more vocal, and that doesn't mean that he is using words more!
One thing that brings me comfort is the Lord is on my side. I know I could NOT do this without His help.

HOPE

Today was the funeral for Scarlett Hope Gamel. On Thursday the 10th my friend lost her little baby girl (3 months old) to SIDS. Honestly it has been a rough week for me...not as rough as it has been for Scarlett's mother though. I want to badly to take the pain away, but I know that I can't and that that is an unwise wish. She was such a sweet and beautiful little girl. I am so thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Without the understanding that comes with it I would be lost. I kow that all she needed was a body...she was able to spend a few short months here with her mommy and daddy. What a great gift that was. She will continue to bless them and guide them from where she is now. She is in the best place that she could possibly be.
"For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child does submit to [her] father." (Mosiah 3:19, Book of Mormon)

This child is with her Father in Heaven. We need to emulate those child like qualities that she had in abundance if we want to live with our Heavenly Father.

Bobcat in the giraffe exhibit!

We went to the zoo last week and as we walked by the giraffes I noticed that there was a bobcat loose in their exhibit. Luckily all the giraffes were unharmed.

New Blog!

I have just started my new blog! It will be about all the children's books that I am reading for my Children's Lit class. I know that it has been a struggle for me to find books that I know are good or that Spencer will like. So hopefully this blog will help! Check it out!

I wanted to ask everyone's opinion. I am currently taking an online class: "Children's Literature." I really like it so far! I get to read all these cool kids books! So one of my friends suggested that I should do a blog to go along with my class. So I started thinking about it and that sounded like a pretty fun idea. I'm not sure exactly what would go in it, just book reviews or other stuff....I'm not sure I'll have to think about it. But I wanted to know what you guys thought about that. Is it a good idea? Is it something that you all would be interested in. I've already read some books that a really do like.
I know before I took this class it was a struggle to go to the library because I had NO clue what were the "good" books. I didn't want to get a book that was boring or just plain stupid! That is one of the reason I took this class.
So anyway let me know what you think!
So I guess this is how my children view my dinner meals. I made a fabulous cheesey chicken potato skillet!! Yummm! I would think that even my 2 year old would like that!
No! I was wrong. Kaden did eat some, but I guess it didn't do it for him because he then stopped eating my food, and begun eating the highchair straps. He had some hanging out of his mouth and was chewing on the rest. He blames it on teething, but I know better!
Spencer on the other had didn't even bother with trying to sooth my feelings by eating some, he decided that dry, uncooked oatmeal was WAY better then the food that mommy cooked!
It was odd watching him with a measuring cup scooping up the oats and "slurping" them up! "Sigh!" Oh, my children! I should have some interesting diapers after this dinner!
